Terma Signs Contract with Polish Military University of Technology to Deliver Comprehensive Ground Segment Suite

Terma is proud to announce that it has won the public procurement tender to deliver products of Terma Ground Segment Suite (TGSS) to the Polish Military University of Technology (WAT).

Space Mission Operations Room 2000Px

Terma Ground Segment Suite (TGSS) is a comprehensive set of tools required to deploy a full Mission Control Center, covering everything from satellite testing and checkout to operational management. Leveraging more than 30 years of experience in satellite operations and testing, TGSS incorporates numerous lessons learned over the decades. It is a trusted solution used by major aerospace companies such as Airbus, OHB, and Thales Alenia Space, as well as in space defense programs for the German and Luxembourg armed forces.

TGSS package, which includes a Monitoring and Control System (CCS5), a Flight Dynamics System (ORBIT), and a Mission Planning System (PLAN), along with intuitive 2D/3D graphical user interfaces (TRACK), will be utilized for the PIAST (Polish Imaging Satellites) project. PIAST aims to launch the first three fully built Polish satellites into space. This project is part of the Polish defense and development program SZAFIR, which seeks to enhance cooperation between Polish scientific entities and private entrepreneurs to develop key security and defense solutions, with a particular focus on addressing identified technology gaps.

Funded by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR), the PIAST project is being implemented by a consortium of companies and scientific and research institutions, including Creotech Instruments S.A., Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Scanway Sp. z o.o., Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Aviation, and PCO S.A. (a company of the Polish Armaments Group), under the leadership of WAT.

The collaboration aims to develop a complete satellite imagery reconnaissance system for Poland, consisting of satellites, a ground segment for control and data acquisition, and a data processing segment. This initiative will pave the way for the development of larger satellite constellations with increased Polish content. By developing these critical elements domestically, Poland will be able to maintain full control over the process of acquiring relevant image data, bolstering national security and technological independence.

Terma is proud to be a part of this groundbreaking project, contributing our extensive expertise and advanced technology to help Poland achieve its ambitious goals in space and defense. We are committed to supporting the development of critical infrastructure that enhances national security and fosters innovation within the space sector.
