Steve Williams brings extensive international experience from the defense industry

Arlington, VA – Effective 6 August 2016, Terma North America Inc. has appointed Steve Williams as President & CEO.

“Steve Williams brings extensive international experience from the defense industry that includes over twelve years in executive general management and business development positions with Lockheed Martin. I am very happy that he accepted the offer from the Board of Directors, and I look forward to working closely with Steve”, said Tom Burbage, Chairman of Board of Directors, Terma North America Inc.

Since the beginning of 2014 until present, Steve has held the position of Regional Executive, Lockheed Martin International Business Development, Europe-Americas. Prior to this, Steve was Regional President for Lockheed Martin Continental Europe, and before that, Senior Director, Europe-Eurasia at Lockheed Martin Corporate.

Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, he was president of a security and telecommunications company, leading business partnerships in the U.S. and Japan.

As part of his 20 year military career, Steve Williams served four years as Foreign Area Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He holds a double MA in International Economics/Foreign Policy from John Hopkins University and a BSc in General Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Steve Williams succeeds Larry Hungerford, who was appointed President & CEO in June 2014. Larry Hungerford will continue as member of The Board of Directors for Terma North America, a position he has held since February 2008.

Terma North America Inc. (TNA) facilitates the growth and development of Terma U.S. business through a local presence near customers and partners.

Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, TNA provides interface with the Department of Defense, U.S. Armed Services, the U.S. Government, and prime contractors.

Through an operations facility in Warner Robins, Georgia, the company conducts business development, service, and support to the U.S. Air Force and business partners by providing electronic warfare systems, maintenance, and procurement.

The facility in Fort Worth, Texas, provides direct interface with Lockheed Martin and related business leaders in support of the F-35 and F-16 programs and through the Atlanta office in support of C-130 programs at the Lockheed Martin Marietta facility.

Through an office in Portsmouth, Virginia, Terma focuses on radar systems and services for U.S.-based customers, including U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, the FAA, and Department of Homeland Security.

The Denmark-based Terma Group (Terma A/S) develops systems and services for defense agencies, civilian authorities, and security applications, including command and control systems, radar systems, self-protection systems for aircraft, space technology, and advanced composite aerostructures for the aircraft industry. The company has a total staff of +1,200 and realized fiscal 2015/16 revenues of USD 220 million.

Terma maintains additional international subsidiaries and operations in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, UK, Singapore, India, and UAE.
