ASIM arrived at Kennedy Space Center
The equipment will be checked thoroughly to ensure that everything has arrived as it was prior to shipment.
Aarhus, Denmark - Following a successful ESA Qualification and Acceptance Review and approval for the CRS-14 mission to the International Space Station (ISS), the Atmosphere-Space Interactions Monitor (ASIM) left Milan in Italy on 27 November bound for Kennedy Space Center, Florida, U.S.
On Friday, 1 December, the observatory was loaded onto a truck in the Dallas/Fort Worth airport and transported to Kennedy Space Center in Florida where Terma’s team unloaded the equipment and started preparation for transfer to clean room facilities.
The equipment will be checked thoroughly to ensure that everything has arrived as it was prior to shipment. For this purpose, chock sensors have been mounted on boxes and transport containers.
Next in line in this post-shipment checkout, the ASIM container will be cleaned and moved to a clean room.
