Crystal City, VA – On Monday 5 June, Danish Minister of Defence Claus Hjort Frederiksen; Danish Ambassador to the U.S., H.E. Lars Gert Lose, and Terma North America CEO Steve Williams cut the ribbon on the new Terma Innovation and Collaboration Center in Crystal City, Virginia.

Minister Frederiksen addressed representatives from U.S. and Danish aerospace and defense companies: “It is a pleasure to be here today and to witness how Terma and the Danish defense industry in general continuously and successfully pursue business opportunities in the U.S., contributing to the creation of Danish jobs and export. It is my hope that the new Center will provide a forum for joint government and industrial promotion and advocacy”, said minister Frederiksen.

The opening reception also featured a discussion on the path ahead for collaboration between the U.S. and Danish aerospace and defense industries.

Terma North America CEO Steve Williams said: “The Terma Innovation and Collaboration Center demonstrates the capabilities across all of Terma, how we collaborate with our industrial partners, and our vision of future solutions, and how we can continue to help address our customer’s most pressing challenges.” He continues:

“The Center will also be a place for U.S. and Danish companies to collaborate, in a similar fashion to the larger Terma R&D Center to be opened later this year in Atlanta.”

The new Center displays a variety of Terma’s products and solutions, including Terma’s renowned aircraft self-protection systems fielded on more than 2,500 aircraft worldwide – including more than 1,000 U.S. Air Force fighters. The Center also displays complex aircraft composite panels, the C-Guard naval decoy launching system, the Terma Star Tracker, SCANTER radars, and a virtual reality demo of our 3D-Audio application for military pilot helmets.
