Terma expands headquarters in Aarhus

Aarhus, Denmark - In the summer of 2019, a new two-story building with a total area of 3,114 square meters is expected to be ready for occupation in Lystrup. The building will face Hovmarken and will include a combined gatekeeper function and reception, new cafeteria, kitchen, and also 70 new office workplaces, meeting rooms, and a basement.

"After several years of growth in both activities and number of employees, we need more space, and we expect this development to continue in the coming years", says CFOO Per Thiesen. "It is especially our cafeteria and kitchen facilities that have become outdated and more space is needed for the many employees. In 2017, we had a net intake of 150 new employees in Terma as a whole, and many of them are employed in the headquarters in Lystrup”, says Per Thiesen.

In collaboration with KPF Arkitekten and TRI-Consult, Terma submitted tender invitations at the end of January this year, and a tender meeting was held on 9 March. The building is expected to amount to more than MDKK 40.

The preparation work for the construction site has been initiated and will continue until mid-April this year, after which excavation for the new building will begin in May.

"The new building will be constructed and furnished in accordance with the current high energy efficiency requirements. Among other things, an 80 square meter solar panel system will be installed on the roof ", says Frits Lindgren, Director, Facilities. "When arranging the building site and during the construction phase, we will do our best to minimize inconveniences for neighbors and employees", he says.

In the years 1969-78, Terma relocated all activities in Aarhus to Hovmarken 4-6 over a 10-year period. Today, there are approx. 750 employees at headquarters and 23,500 square meters of offices, production halls and warehouses under cover. The total number of employees in Terma worldwide is 1,450.
