Terma Singapore Pte. Ltd. 10 years celebration
Terma will be celebrating the anniversary in connection with Singapore Airshow 2018.
Singapore - For decades, the Asia Pacific market has been important to Terma’s global business. We have provided a large number of radars and surveillance systems in the region to secure coastlines, harbors, airports, and naval vessels along with command and control systems and self-protection systems for naval and airborne platforms. We also have important partners and customers in the region within space applications.
In 2006, these strong and long lasting relations and Terma’s commitment to be closer to its valuable customers and partners formed the logic base for the decision to establish a permanent presence in Asia Pacific with a regional HQ in Singapore. The formation was in line with Terma’s global strategy and made perfect sense in line with the earlier formations of Terma North America and Terma Netherlands as International Group Locations, which today cover all of Terma’s business activities.
In 2007, Terma opened its doors to the Asia Pacific market with an office in the Nordic European Center in Singapore’s International Business Park. With this physical presence, the knowledge of Terma as a whole was increased considerably, benefiting all business areas. The establishment process was concluded in 2008 with the establishment and formal registration of Terma Singapore Pte. Ltd.
“During our time of presence in Singapore, we have successfully evolved from a traditional supplier of products and solutions to having embraced transfer-of-technology and thus supporting the indigenization efforts and ambitions. Our collaboration with Tata Advanced Systems on the Indian Navy’s surface surveillance radar (SSR) project illustrates in the best possible way this development,” says Anupam Narain Mathur, VP and General Manager, Terma Asia Pacific.
As part of Terma’s 2016 consolidation, Terma’s then two regional offices in Singapore and New Delhi merged into one region. Anupam Narain Mathur was appointed VP and General Manager of this strategically important and consolidated Asia Pacific region after establishing and heading Terma’s India office for four years. At present, Terma employs 15 people in Singapore and India with an ambition to further strengthen its regional footprint with additional offices.
Throughout the Asia Pacific region, more than 500 SCANTER radars from Terma are installed, deployed, and operational including in +30 major international airports in the region. This means that more than one billion airport passengers are protected every year by surface movement radars from Terma.
300 military aircraft in the region rely on advanced self-protetcion systems delivered from Terma, and 10 regional navies and coast guards rely on Terma’s naval solutions – radars, decoy launchers, and combat management systems.
Terma will be celebrating the anniversary with an informal reception at Singapore Airshow on 6-11 February 2018 at Changi Exhibition Centre. The reception will take place on Wednesday, 7 February 2018 at 3 PM at our stand Q92. Terma’s President & CEO Jens Maaløe will host the reception.
